After a year of testing and optimizing all components such as DC cable diameter, solar panel, solar controller and charger, microinverter, battery with battery management and integrated heating, SmartShunt and system monitoring with a communication center with remote access via LTE, my own server is now running in my office with solar power.
How is the system structured?
Since you, my customers, should be able to access my server services such as “360° virtual tour”, "time-lapse photo and video archives" as well as your "project photo albums" at any time, my IT components, such as the LWL FiberTwist, the Internet router, switch and the server are running 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
At the latest step I equipped my solar system with an electricity storage system that feeds electricity directly into my house network at night.
*However, the last snowfalls have shown me that I cannot achieve 100% self-sufficiency with my solar system if I do not sweep the solar panels free every day after snowfalls.
So there is still a lot of room for improvement towards climate neutrality, but I have taken a small first step, my goal is clear: CO2-neutral operation of my office with all computers and monitors. #InternationalDayofCleanEnergy
